Project Description
6-12 Manor Road | Stoke Newington
The scheme comprises a new build mixed use development in London Borough of Hackney designed with Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt Architects.
The development will have a number of commercial units at ground floor and basement levels with 35 residential units over ground to fifth floors.
Milieu have been involved with the project from an early stage and have been able to influence the design as it has some challenging constraints. It is located next to a railway so acoustically the apartments cannot rely on being able to open windows and the air quality is poor. To try and combat potential overheating due to these constraints, Milieu is proposing to make use of underfloor cooling via reversible air source heat pumps which are connected to a common central water loop. This ambient loop heat network means that heat rejected for cooling can be used elsewhere in the development to provide heating and hot water and reduce energy consumption and wastage.
