Project Description

Boehringer Ingelheim

This scheme provides a new 980m2 training facility, over two floors for Boehringer Ingelheim. The new facility is an extension of their existing head office building located in Bracknell.

Milieu’s duties include the acoustics, mechanical, electrical and public health design including an enabling works package and the BREEAM Assessor role. Additional services carried out at planning stage were an Energy Strategy and dynamic thermal modelling to advise on daylighting and solar shading. A daylighting study, thermal comfort report and a low and zero carbon technology feasibility study have been undertaken to assist in achieving the required BREEM Very Good score.

The systems comprise a new Air Source Heat Pump serving individual cassette units within the training and meeting rooms, to provide heating and cooling. Ventilation is delivered by a central air handling unit which incorporates a high efficiency heat exchanger, and specific filtration to suit the Client’s particular requirements. Low Energy LED lighting is provided to the internal spaces, and the external lighting is specifically designed to suit the BREEAM requirements.

Practical Completion has now been achieved.
