Project Description
St Peter’s Church | Ropley
Largely destroyed by a fire in June 2014, St Peter’s Church which dated back to the 11th Century, has been painstakingly restored and renovated.
The Parochial Church Council tirelessly fundraised in order to restore this pivotal part of the community. Milieu, working closely with Alexander Design Architects, provided full MEP design services for this rewarding project which reopened to the public in August 2022.
As much as possible was retained from the original church, with modernisations including a contemporary glulam roof built over the retained flint walls to create a modern space for worship and community use. The timber bell tower was retained with an additional modern structure behind which houses the air handling equipment for the church.
The new, sympathetic extension has provided administrative offices and catering space to support community uses for generations to come.
