Project Description

Horsell Moor (Moor’s Nook)

This scheme provided 34 high-specification retirement homes of one or two bedrooms. The four storey horseshoe-shaped building surrounds a south-facing courtyard inspired by the nearby common. Designed to make the most of natural light the double aspect apartments have floor to ceiling height glass windows.

Milieu undertook an Energy Statement, overheating assessment, Part L Compliance calculations, and an external lighting assessment. A transportation assessment was carried out to better connect the property with the town of Horsell.

Now branded ‘Moors Nook’ Pegasus Life are currently marketing the retirement properties. The project was shortlisted for Building Magazine’s Housing Project of the Year 2018 and also Brick Development Association’s Large Housing Development Award 2018.

The project is the winner of the RIBA South East Awards 2021.
